The floor is not one continuous cleaning action. Players report that each stain is a separate shape puzzle. Finish the interaction pattern for one stain before moving to the next.
If the cloth is present but a stain remains, re-check the boundary of that individual shape. If the cloth has disappeared from the inventory entirely, use the official missing-item guidance instead.
